Why do we have Street Sweeping?
Sweeping provides two primary benefits...the most obvious is the collection and removal of paper, leaves, and other visible debris that collects in the gutters. This debris can block storm water drains, causing localized flooding during heavy rains and pollutes our local waterways. An equally important, but less visible benefit is the removal of metal particles and other hazardous water products left behind by passing vehicles. Although virtually invisible, these particles can be extremely harmful to fish and other wildlife. Sweeping also serves as one of our Best Management Practices (BMP) to control and improve water quality.
Dates and Times
Sweeping takes place every other week, the day after trash collection (except designated holidays) from either 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Signage is posted at the entrance to each neighborhood indicating exact day and time.
Restricted Parking Violations
Street parking is restricted during your neighborhood's designated sweeping day and time. Vehicles impeding the sweeper will receive a citation with a $40.00 for each infraction. For questions regarding payments or lost parking citations, contact the Diamond Bar Parking Administration office at 1.800.273.6488.
Parking Violation Review
If you would like to request an Administrative Review for the dismissal of your parking citation, complete and mail the Request for Administrative Review form to: Diamond Bar Parking Administration, P.O. Box 25120, Santa Ana, CA 92799-5120.
Note, lack of adequate signage does not constitue grounds for dismissal of parking citations. Vehicle Code 22507.6
